夫分段生死，三界惑盡方始得離，二乘無學、登地菩薩皆得變易。今未離染，頓欲於此分段身上變麁身為細質、易短命為長年，過分希求，故為魔著。細相常住者，微細存想，求久住世也。

Now, as for samsāra in segments and stages, it is only after the delusions of the three realms are exhausted that one first gets to escape it; those without further learning in the two vehicles and bodhisattvas who have mounted the stages all attain the body of transformation. Now, before being freed from defilement, he abruptly wishes to transform this coarse body of segments and stages into a subtle substance and change a short lifespan into long years; because of excessive seeking, he is possessed by a demon. 'Subtly contemplating permanent abiding' means cultivating subtle thoughts and seeking to abide long in the world.
