"Ānanda! Look at all these changing appearances; I will now return each of them to their original causes. What are their original causes? Ānanda! Among these changing appearances, brightness returns to the solar disc. Why? Because without the sun there is no brightness; the cause of brightness belongs to the sun, and therefore it returns to the sun. Darkness returns to the dark moon, passage returns to the doors and windows, obstruction returns to the walls and eaves, conditions return to discrimination, impenetrable voidness returns to emptiness, hazy turbidity returns to dust, and clear brightness returns to fair weather. Thus, everything that exists in all the worlds does not exceed these kinds."
