"If after my extinction there are monks who resolve with determination to cultivate samādhi, and are able before an image of the Tathāgata to light a lamp on their bodies, burn a finger joint, or burn an incense stick upon their bodies, I say that such persons will repay all their past debts from beginningless time at once, make a permanent farewell to the world, and be forever free from all taints. Although they may not immediately understand the unsurpassed path of awakening, such persons have already resolved their minds with determination regarding the Dharma."
