Solely the feeling of equanimity is harmonious and unobstructed with the concentrated mind, abandoning all phenomena of suffering, bliss, and the like; yet within this mind of equanimity, superior understanding still arises, reaching definitive conviction and endorsement herein, not to be diverted by other conditions; hence it is called 'superior understanding is pure.' By the power of superior understanding, within this harmonious and superior concentration one loves and complies with it, causing this superior concentration to be free from hindrance, abiding in the mind with autonomy and inexhaustible enjoyment; hence it is said, 'attains wondrous compliance to the end of future time,' and so forth.
