1.15

就第一列聲聞有五（云云）。如鍊真金，是總歎（云云）。澄即歎定，靜即歎慧，具足身心諸定也。色界四禪為身定，無色四空為心定。前三背捨是身定，後五背捨是心定。故知得解脫者，身心澄靜也（云云）。

Regarding the first listing of śrāvakas, there are five (and so on). 'Like refined pure gold' is the general praise (and so on). 'Lucid' praises meditative concentration; 'serene' praises wisdom; fully endowed with the various concentrations of body and mind. The four dhyānas of the form realm are bodily concentration; the four formless attainments are mental concentration. The first three liberations (vimokṣa) are bodily concentration; the latter five liberations are mental concentration. Therefore we know that those who attain liberation are lucid and serene in body and mind (and so on).
