1.17

第三列凡夫眾，即有八部，名四種眾。當機，是五百及後得道者；發起，是月蓋、舍利弗等；影響，是上列二萬及八部中權者。結緣者，是當時無益，後世得度人也。又作乘急戒緩四句（云云）。

Third is the listing of the assembly of ordinary beings, which consists of the eight classes, called the four kinds of assembly. The current recipients are the five hundred and those who attained the path later. The instigators are Yuegaiduo, Śāriputra, and others. The resonant reflectors are the twenty thousand listed above and the provisional manifestations among the eight classes. Those forming a karmic affinity are those who gained no immediate benefit at the time but are saved in later lives. Moreover, four propositions are made regarding urgency in vehicle and laxity in precepts (and so forth).
