2.26

經「與大比丘」去，第六、聞持之伴。此證阿難與大眾共聞，豈謬傳也。所以先聲聞、次菩薩、後天龍者，二乘滯空、凡夫滯有，菩薩不滯，常行不二，故處其間。

From the sūtra's “Together with great bhikṣus” onward: the sixth, the companions in hearing and upholding. This proves that Ānanda heard together with the great assembly; how could it be falsely transmitted? As for why śrāvakas come first, bodhisattvas next, and deva-nāgas last: the two vehicles are attached to emptiness, ordinary people are attached to existence, and bodhisattvas are not attached, constantly practicing non-duality; therefore they are placed in between.
