經「吸人精氣」者，《普門疏》云「人心中有七滴甜水，和養精神。鬼噉一滴令頭痛，三滴悶絕，七滴即死。」
Regarding the sūtra's "sucking human essence and breath," the Pumen shu states: "In the human heart there are seven drops of sweet water that nurture and sustain the spirit. If a spirit consumes one drop, it causes a headache; three drops, unconsciousness; seven drops, then death."
