From "as the Prajñā[-pāramitā]" downward: since that sūtra in all cases urges one to study prajñā, it is verified that without wisdom, none of the various practices can be accomplished. This means that from the root of great wisdom, a single mind completely possesses all pāramitās. The Suvarṇaprabhāsa says: "With sarvākārajñatā as the foundation, adorned with immeasurable virtues." This also conveys this meaning. One should know that receiving the teaching gives rise to wisdom, using wisdom one guides practice, and practice inevitably enters into principle; thus, this and the preceding interpretation form an outer and inner pair. A jewel is the root of treasure; the jewel is used as a metaphor for wisdom, and the treasure as a metaphor for practice.
