"Four propositions" means the four gates. "It is impermanence and so forth": "and so forth" includes both-is and neither-is. Permanence is the gate of existence; impermanence is the gate of emptiness; the other two can be known accordingly. "This is true and real" and so forth: considering one's own understanding of one gate to be right, and rejecting others' understanding of the three gates as wrong. Question: Which practitioner does Candraprabha belong to? Answer: The sūtra belongs to the Vaipulya, so he cannot be definitively categorized. One should know that Candraprabha is fundamentally the tenth; or he manifests as a beginner in the perfect teaching, or generally manifests the previous eight. Deriving views from reasoning is called a yakṣa. Views do not exceed five, so the sūtra says "yet having five eyes." "Five views" is as noted previously. Regarding "hooked fangs" and so forth: since fangs emerge from below upward, they can harm people. Karma also arises from views and harms the dharmakāya. Karma arising from views becomes the cause of birth and death. The essence of karma is dark, hence it is said to be "like ink."
