Regarding "the destiny of the devas has little suffering," this means it is not completely without suffering, but merely has less than the other destinies. For example, the desire devas have the suffering of the five signs of decay; the four dhyānas have the suffering of being unable to enter dhyāna quickly; the four immaterial realms have the suffering of the four minds. The "eight adversities" are: the three evil destinies make three; fourth, the Northern Continent; fifth, the long-lived devas; sixth, before or after a Buddha; seventh, worldly wisdom and eloquence; and eighth, being deaf, blind, mute, or crippled. Regarding "the word 'all'," and so on, since it says "all," what is not encompassed? It leaves behind even the suffering of the two kinds of birth and death, how much more so the heavenly destinies?
