Regarding the fourth, the sameness and difference of seeing the body: as the Great Brahmā King saw the Buddha's body as a thousand feet tall, and again as Bodhisattva Dharadhara saw the Buddha's body as sixteen feet tall, he then measured above the Buddha's uṣṇīṣa, passing through countless worlds to the Flower-Surpassed Buddha-field, and still saw the Tathāgata's body as sixteen feet tall. As the *Bao'en jing* says: 'Non-Buddhists see the Buddha with the notion of a child; people of the śrāvaka vehicle only see a sixteen-foot body; bodhisattvas see a boundless body; all Buddhas see the Dharma-nature body.' Therefore the *Avataṃsaka Sūtra* states: 'Just like the pure full moon / can appear in every body of water; / although its reflected images are limitless, / its original substance is undifferentiated. / The Dharma of all Buddhas is like this: / appearing as various images according to resonance; / although the manifested forms are limitless, / the Dharma-essence is undifferentiated.' This concludes the fourth, the sameness and difference of seeing the body.
