八事訖不來成不者。由所牒緣謝，法亦無施，便失法也。即須反界，不反破夏。《明了論》云：請七日出界訖，事竟不還，破安居，得小罪。《十誦》明文不許往。《僧祇》意亦同之。

Eighth, on whether it is accomplished if one does not return after the matter is finished: Because the stated circumstance has lapsed, the procedure no longer applies, and one immediately loses the procedure. One must return to the sīmā at once; if one does not return, one breaks the varṣā. The Vinayavibhāṣā states: 'Having requested seven days and gone outside the sīmā, if one does not return when the matter is finished, one breaks the varṣā and incurs a minor offense.' The Daśādhyāya-vinaya clearly has text not permitting one to go. The intention of the Mahāsāṃghika-vinaya is also the same.
