三明眾法。所為之緣，同前通用；但令事是半月、一月緣者，方應羯磨。不同存單之人，由不重受七日，事緣要必須訃，理無停止；遂引七日令長，用一月羯磨。此自污心，教有明罰。餘同前釋。

Third is explaining the rite performed by the community. The causes for which it is undertaken are universally applicable as before; only when the affair is a cause lasting half a month or one month is one then eligible to perform the karman. This differs from those who rely on a single [request]: because they do not re-receive the seven days, and the cause of the affair definitely requires a notification of bereavement so that there is logically no stopping it, they consequently extend the seven days to make them long, using the one-month karman. This defiles their own minds, and the teaching prescribes explicit penalties. The rest is explained as before.
