第三光師所撰，羯磨增加乞辭，舉世同行，事須略述。今正學宗，並依律本，恐輒內乞辭，增加羯磨。律云：如白羯磨法作。今既不如，即知非教。又諸部並無乞文，不得準著。止可隨其綱網，順教誦之。問：用舊羯磨受日，得夏不？答：應成歲。雖增加乞辭，而羯磨大宗無失。

The third is that composed by Master Guang, which adds a request formula to the karman. The whole world practices it together, so the matter must be briefly stated. Now, in the orthodox school of study, we rely entirely on the root Vinaya, fearing that arbitrarily inserting a request formula adds to the karman. The Vinaya says: "Perform it according to the method of a karman with a motion." Since it is now not in accord with it, one knows it is not the teaching. Moreover, the various Vinayas have no text for a request, so one must not base oneself upon it. One may only follow its general framework and recite it in accordance with the teaching. Question: If one uses the old karman to receive the days, does one obtain the varṣā? Answer: It should constitute a varṣā. Although a request formula was added, the main principle of the karman was not compromised.
