1.539

若一人法者，律云：當往說戒處，掃灑敷坐，具盛水器、舍羅等，待客比丘。若無來者，應至塔廟前，具修威儀，心生口言：「今日眾僧自恣，我比丘某甲清淨（三說）。」若犯輕突吉羅，心念懺已自恣。若犯故作吉羅已上，無治罰義，及以發露，則不應自恣之法。餘依前。

As for the procedure for one person, the Vinaya states: One should go to the place of upoṣadha recitation, sweep and sprinkle, spread the seats, fully set out water vessels, salākās, etc., and await visiting bhikṣus. If none come, one should proceed before a stūpa or shrine, fully assume proper deportment, and mentally generate and orally state: "Today the saṃgha performs pravāraṇā; I, bhikṣu so-and-so, am pure (recited thrice)." If one has committed a light duṣkṛta, one repents it mentally and then performs pravāraṇā. If one has committed an intentional duṣkṛta or above, since there is no mechanism for penalizing it, if it is not disclosed, one should not perform the rite of pravāraṇā. The rest is as before.
