初有施主。《四分》、《多論》：不問道俗，皆名施主，即明僧食，無別眾罪。故《多論》云：若取僧食別自受啖，不與僧同，或遮客僧，或不作相，是盜僧祇，非別眾罪。廣如上卷。

First, there being a donor. The Dharmaguptaka Vinaya and the Sarvāstivāda-vinaya-vibhāṣā state: 'Regardless of monastic or lay status, all are called donors.' That is, explaining food belonging to the saṃgha: there is no offense of eating in a separate group. Hence the Sarvāstivāda-vinaya-vibhāṣā states: 'If one takes food belonging to the saṃgha to receive and eat separately on one's own, not sharing it with the saṃgha, or obstructs visiting monks, or does not make an agreed signal, this is stealing from the saṃgha, not the offense of eating in a separate group.'
