初約位分。無學誤犯故輕，三果故犯為重。三果無漏力強，雖犯亦輕，內凡道劣故重。乃至外凡，相比可知。

First, distinguished by spiritual rank. For one of no-learning, inadvertent transgression is light, whereas for the three fruits, deliberate transgression is grave. The three fruits have strong untainted power, so even if they transgress, it is still light; inner ordinary beings have inferior path [power], so it is grave. This applies by comparison up to outer ordinary beings, as can be known.
