2.410

言其犯相者，謂受戒已來，勤學三藏，於境迷忘，遇緣而造者；隨相境想具之。若由來不學，事法無知，觸便違犯者；佛言：隨所作，結根本，更增無知罪。既略敘結，須配位法。今立兩箇九句，為持犯方軌；且據一事，以通餘戒。

Regarding the characteristics of transgression: if since receiving the precepts one has diligently studied the Tripiṭaka, but becomes confused or forgetful regarding the realm and commits [an act] upon meeting conditions, this is fully determined in accordance with the specific characteristics and perception of the realm. If one has never studied from the beginning, lacks knowledge of the facts and teachings, and infringes whenever coming into contact, the Buddha said: According to what one does, the fundamental [offense] is determined, and the offense of ignorance is further added. Having briefly stated the determination, it is necessary to match the stages and teachings. Now two sets of nine propositions are established as the guiding rubric for observance and transgression; we rely for now on one matter to extend to the remaining precepts.
