《毘尼母》：聽畜刀子六種：一用割皮，剪甲，破瘡，裁衣，割衣上毛縷，六用淨果；乃至食時種種須故。《五分》：聽畜拔鼻毛鑷。

The Vinayamātṛkā states: Monks are permitted to keep six kinds of knives: the first is used for cutting leather, trimming nails, lancing sores, tailoring robes, cutting lint and thread on robes, and the sixth is used for cleaning fruit; up to various necessities at the time of eating. The Pañcavargika-vinaya states: Keeping tweezers to pluck nose hair is permitted.
