《增一》：作房施僧，名招提僧施。《四分》：檀越為比丘作堂，如王住殿，一切所須，並開受。諸比丘欲作房，佛令隨作房法，一切聽與。律文事事具出，略不明也。若分得破房，修理不具，不肯取；佛令隨力多少應治，一切所須供給。

The Ekottarika-āgama states: Making a room and donating it to the saṃgha is called a donation to the cāturdiśa-saṃgha. The Dharmaguptaka Vinaya states: If a dānapati builds a hall for bhikṣus like a king's palace, accepting everything that is needed is permitted. When various bhikṣus wished to build rooms, the Buddha instructed that everything should be permitted and provided in accordance with the rules for building rooms. The vinaya text sets these forth in full detail, so they will not be elaborated here. If upon distribution one receives a damaged room that has not been completely repaired, and one is unwilling to take it, the Buddha instructed that one should repair it according to one's capacity, and everything needed must be supplied.
