四說法勸善者。《十誦》：應隨時到病者所，為說深法，是道非道，發其智慧；先所習學，或阿練若、誦經、持律、法師、阿毘曇、佐助眾事；隨其解行，而讚歎之。

Fourth, preaching the Dharma and exhorting wholesome [thoughts]. The *Daśādhyāya-vinaya* states: One should go to the sick person at appropriate times and preach the profound Dharma to him—what is the path and what is not the path—to stimulate his wisdom; and according to what he had practiced and learned previously, whether it be dwelling in the forest (āraṇyaka), reciting sūtras, upholding the Vinaya, serving as a Dharma master, studying the Abhidharma, or assisting in the affairs of the community, one should praise him in accordance with his understanding and practice.
