受前八法。初請和尚、二闍梨，一準僧中。所以云，我依阿姨者，此學佛召愛道之號，相傳不絕。威儀問難中，必須委曲顯示難相，并及諸遮，亦如僧中，以正要急故。乃至本法以來，具依常法；一事或差，不成受也。餘並如前〈受戒〉中。

The eight preliminary Dharmas of reception: First, requesting the upādhyāyikā and two ācāryikās follows the bhikṣus' model entirely. The reason she says “I rely upon the noble aunt” is that this follows the Buddha's title for Mahāprajāpatī, transmitted without interruption. In the interrogation on the deportment and disqualifications, one must explain in detail the forms of the disqualifications and the various hindrances, just as among the bhikṣus, because these are essential and urgent matters. Everything up through the fundamental procedure (mūladharma) fully follows standard procedure; if a single matter is amiss, the reception is invalid. The rest is entirely as presented earlier in the chapter on “Receiving Precepts.”
