Second, explaining the procedure for the ordination platform and the great boundary: First, erect three layers of landmark markers. The innermost layer marks the outside of the ordination platform within the natural boundary; the middle layer marks outside the natural boundary and within the great boundary; the outermost layer marks outside the great boundary. One must immediately go around and first proclaim the inner markers of one layer, and then perform the karman to demarcate it. However, because the three sets of marks are difficult to understand and it is feared that the procedure will not be practiced well, I briefly provide a diagram to illustrate it; afterwards, proclaim the marks according to the diagram, so that beginners may be enlightened from their confusion. Nowadays, practical affairs are neglected and people merely chant texts, never having thoroughly practiced them; when told to read according to the text, they immediately become confused and disordered, and one can be certain that performing the karman in connection with practical affairs will not succeed. One must be meticulous; only then will one successfully handle affairs.
