As for the 'precept dharma,' speaking in terms of the Dharma, it is not restricted to ordinary beings or sages. It directly illuminates that this Dharma can certainly guide and accomplish the path of transcendence, making the recipient believe and know that this exists. Although both ordinary beings and sages equally possess this Dharma, what is received now, spoken of in terms of what has been accomplished, is called the noble Dharma. Only by turning away from birth and death, looking up to join the ranks of the saṃgha, establishing a firm aspiration and commitment, and dwelling aloft beyond worldly entanglements; one must nurture this mind beforehand so that it is accomplished following the person. Only then can one hold the noble Dharma in one's heart and practice noble conduct in one's person; hence it is called 'practice conforming to the Dharma.'
