The ninth saṃghāvaśeṣa precept: Slandering using a borrowed ground. This precept involves taking a ground of seeing based on a different event, taking that ground of seeing and claiming that one saw an offense committed regarding this event. Because the matter does not correspond, it is called a borrowed ground; therefore it is divided into two precepts. The conditions of the offense are the same as above. In the Vinaya there are five kinds of differences: 1. regarding a different destiny; 2. a different offense; 3. a different person; 4. a different time; 5. a borrowed semblance. Regarding 'different parts,' the Samantapāsādikā refers to 'other parts,' using a sheep in place of a human; 'taking a fragment' refers to an act of sexual misconduct resembling it. The remaining characteristics can be known.
