Fourteenth is the water boundary (udaka-sīmā). The Samantapāsādikā states: When sitting in meditation in an araṇya, troubled by drowsiness when dawn is about to break, one removes the robes, places them on the bank, and enters a pond to bathe; when dawn appears, one commits a forfeiture. The Vinayamātṛkā states: If one places the robes on the bank and enters the water with one foot, one does not commit the transgression of forfeiting the robes. The Mahāsāṃghika states: The water road-travel boundary is twenty-five cubits; if one is on a boat, entering the water immediately entails forfeiture.
