Precept twenty-seven: traveling by appointment with a bhikṣuṇī. There are five conditions: first, she is a bhikṣuṇī; second, verbally agreeing to travel together; third, without cause; fourth, on the same road; fifth, transgressing upon crossing a boundary. As for non-offenses in the Vinaya: not making an appointment together; traveling in a large caravan through places of suspicion and terror; if going there allows one to obtain peace and safety; or in cases of danger to life, brahmacarya, etc., there is no offense. The Daśādhyāya-vinaya allows carrying robes for a bhikṣuṇī through dangerous paths.
