Precept Seventy-one: Rejecting exhortation to study. Five conditions: first, generating the intention to desist and not study; second, the other person exhorts in accordance with the Dharma; third, knowing oneself to be wrong and the other person's admonition to be right; fourth, having the intention not to accept the exhortation; fifth, the offense is incurred upon concluding the words. The Daśādhyāya-vinaya states: "When one speaks of the four items, one by one, up to the seven methods for settling disputes, saying, 'I will not study this,' each statement incurs a pāyattika." The five kinds of people to whom one should not speak the Vinaya are as explained in a later fascicle.
