Precept 90: Making a robe of equal measure to the Buddha's robe. The Sarvāstivāda-vinaya-vibhāṣā says: The Buddha's stature is sixteen feet; an ordinary person is half of that, so the robe's length and width should both be halved. The Daśādhyāya-vinaya says: Nine Buddha spans in length; the Pañcavargika and Mahāsāṃghika Vinayas say the same; any edition having ten spans is erroneous. It is eighteen feet long and twelve feet wide by the Ji-Zhou ruler; for an ordinary person, it is nine feet and six feet. Since this case is rare, there is no leisure to elaborate, but it must be known.
