The Dharmaguptaka Vinaya states: If at the time of dyeing, one requires cauldrons, bronze basins, vessels, iron pots, axes, ropes, and pegs, all are permitted. For water wells, pond water, and railings, everything is to be supplied; if rain causes distress through dampness, erect a shelter above them. If there is firewood out in the open, construct a shelter to cover it.
