正明中，初文。問監護者，準上本宗年少辨具文也；雖已先差，須白告眾。注釋收護，言通始終。今時多召收籌者，誤也。有下，刪其繁長也。注云上文具者，收護通包也。

Under "Direct Explanation": the first text. Asking about the overseer: according to the above text of our own school, a junior monk prepares the requisites; although he has already been assigned in advance, he must announce it to the assembly. The commentary explains "collecting and guarding," which applies from beginning to end. Nowadays most call him the "tally collector," which is an error. From "There is..." onward, it excises its verbosity. The commentary says "fully detailed in the text above" because "collecting and guarding" embraces everything.
