對說中，《十誦》。王難開說，即瓶沙緣，如〈羯磨篇〉中引。《五分》。賊難，事同《僧祇》。彼因突入聞說，不為說故，便加苦惱，制令改誦。

In [the section on] reciting facing [adversity], in the *Daśādhyāya-vinaya*: allowing recitation during king difficulties is the Bimbisāra condition, as cited in the “Chapter on Karmavācanā.” In the *Mahīśāsaka-vinaya*: bandit difficulties are the same as in the *Mahāsāṃghika-vinaya*. Because they rushed in and heard the recitation, and because [the bhikṣus] would not recite for them, they thereupon inflicted afflictions; hence [the Buddha] regulated that they alter what they chanted.
