問得否者，為破古解。疏云：有人定判依受夏破是也。答言無失者。疏云：增乞減乞，各有所憑；羯磨大途規模在故，依受不失。（意詳不無非法之罪。）

Questioning whether it is valid or not is to overturn ancient interpretations. The Commentary states: 'Some definitively determined that by relying on receiving [this], the summer retreat is broken; this is it.' In answering that there is no fault, the Commentary states: 'Adding or subtracting supplications each has something it relies on; because the broad framework and pattern of the karmavācanā remain, by relying on receiving [it], it is not lost.' (Its intended meaning is that it is not without an offense of improper procedure.)
