一年之中，五月為時；七月名非時。餘下，指相攝。時前十日開受急施，即非時攝時也；自恣竟不為安居施者，時攝非時也。

Within a single year, five months are the proper season; seven months are called the improper season. Below, where it says "The rest...", it indicates mutual inclusion. Ten days prior to the season, receiving emergency gifts is permitted, which is the improper season encompassing the proper season; after pravāraṇā, gifts not intended for the rains retreat represent the proper season encompassing the improper season.
