次科。智謂識見，量即器度。侮，慢也。猷言，即自所鈔。猷法也。空有二計，雙亦雙非，四執相攻，名為戲論。今采摭眾典，取捨諸家；恐疑同彼，故須遮之。

The next section: "wisdom" means insight, and "capacity" means one's mental caliber. "Contempt" means disdain. "Guiding statements" refers to what one has excerpted oneself. "Guides" means models. The two attachments to emptiness and existence, both-affirming and both-denying—the four attachments combating one another are called frivolous discourse. Now, in culling from various scriptures and selecting among various masters, it was feared that this work might be suspected of being like them, and hence it had to be precluded.
