戒體中，初科為二，初指餘文。通論即宗論，非別解故；如《成實》、《婆沙》、《雜心》、《俱舍》等。所發即無作。今下，標今意。相謂心之相狀。

In [the section] "Precept-Essence," the first subsection has two parts: first, it refers to other texts. "General treatises" are school treatises, not distinct expositions; such as the Tattvasiddhi, Mahāvibhāṣā, Saṃyuktābhidharmahṛdaya, Abhidharmakośa, and so forth. "That which is generated" is non-informative [karma]. From "now" onward, it marks the present intention. "Mark" refers to the marks and characteristics of the mind.
