In "Concluding judgment": The first three sentences provide a direct determination. "All are invalid" covers both places generally. "Declared invalid" is restricted to being within the Saṃgha. "Knowing..." below indicates the offense. The offense applies to both self and other: causing the Saṃgha to become a factional assembly, and oneself violating the teaching; both are duṣkṛta. Now in this text, it is explained temporarily with respect to oneself. Below, the Vinaya text is cited: first to prove it is invalid, second to require giving it again. That text, having listed the five kinds of chanda, states: "If one does not manifest marks, does not speak orally, all are invalid, etc.," as cited in the text. The commentary states: "Since the former was not according to Dharma, and both subject and object deviated from proper deportment, one must choose a person again; only then may one undertake the Dharma and proceed."
