答中，初句直斷。以下，申所以。上句示欲意，下二句顯非所為。反顯若以欲緣為羯磨事，則容有別。疏云欲本不稱（謂不牒緣，意在下答。），僧為又別（正同此意），但知通意，故兩無違；義須應往，故結小犯。文下，引決。如法治者，吉羅異名。

In the answer: The first sentence judges directly. "Because..." below explains the reason. The upper sentence indicates the intent of chanda; the lower two sentences show that it is not what was done. Conversely, it shows that if the reason for chanda were taken as the business of the karmavācanā, there might indeed be a factional assembly. The commentary says that the chanda originally did not declare it (meaning it did not mention the reason, the intention being in the answer below), and what the Saṃgha did was again separate (directly identical with this meaning); one only needs to understand the overarching intent, so the two do not contradict each other; by principle one ought to have gone, hence a minor offense is incurred. Below the text, it cites [authority] to resolve it. "Dealing with according to Dharma" is an alternative name for duṣkṛta.
