答中，初句總答。若下，別示，上二句明通。由是勸喻，不慮乖別故。至下，顯局。治舉違惱，或致破僧；僧不舉僧，律文明制。治舉可爾。乞為受懺，竝是順情，何以同禁不得至四。學者尋之。

In the answer, the first line answers generally. "If..." gives the specific explanation; the first two lines explain what is universally permitted. Since it is an admonition and advice, there is no fear of discord or dissension. "Up to..." shows the restriction. Disciplining and censuring cause conflict and distress, or may even bring about schism in the Saṅgha; that monks must not censure monks is explicitly prohibited in the Vinaya text. Disciplining and censuring may be like this. Requesting to confess and undergo repentance on someone's behalf are both agreeable to sentiments; why are they similarly prohibited from reaching four persons? Let scholars investigate this.
