戒場中三，初示場體。中下，二明中隔自然，初二句通標。東下，先示東北。言下上者，下即牆際，上謂地面。次明西南，初示竪標。云尺八者，不必可知。後南西下，明結已作法。若論說恣，即須通集。其戒場下，三示場外相。

In [the section on] the precept site, there are three parts: first, indicating the substance of the site. From "in the middle..." onward, second, clarifying the intervening natural boundary; the first two lines mark it in general. From "east..." onward, it first indicates the northeast. As for "below and above," below means the foot of the wall, and above refers to the ground level. Next, it clarifies the southwest; first, it indicates erecting markers. Saying "one foot and eight inches" is not necessarily fixed, as can be understood. From "southwest..." onward, it clarifies the legal act after consecration. If discussing poṣadha and pravāraṇā, then they must assemble universally. From "its precept site..." onward, third, it indicates the markers outside the site.
