次科，古義中。彼謂受戒出眾問難，入眾正受，必在界中，故須立相；餘二不爾，故但隨身。疏引古云：及作受戒，相如熨斗柄，是中問遮是也。

In the next section, the ancient view: They maintained that when conferring ordination, stepping out of the assembly to interrogate about impediments and entering the assembly to directly receive [the precepts] must occur within the boundary, hence landmarks must be established; the other two are not like this, so they merely follow the persons' bodies. The Commentary cites an ancient saying: “When conferring ordination, the landmarks are like the handle of an iron, and within this the impediments are questioned; this is it.”
