The Daśacakra has four passages: the first two are from the second fascicle, and the last two from the third; furthermore, they are drawn from different parts and are not continuous. In the first passage, the first three sentences show that the teacher does not abandon any being. In "lazy...", it shows the four characteristics of dull faculties. The first sentence indicates two kinds of faults. The next sentence indicates the fault of failing to restrain mindfulness. The three sentences under "craving..." indicate the fault of not knowing contentment; among the four requisites, dwellings subsume bedding, and food subsumes medicine. In "distancing...", it clarifies the fault of laxity and self-indulgence. In "such as...", it properly clarifies the rousing of inspiration. When leaving home to study the Way, one must fundamentally cultivate wisdom; if one is dull, inferior, and incapable of it, one is gradually enticed with practical duties, causing them for the time being to cultivate merit; "to admonish and transform" means having them teach and guide others. Below, it lists the Triratna and the two teachers, as they are superior fields for generating merit.
