In the next section: "Although it is so" is an expression where conceding and denying are not yet resolved. In contrast to the initial glance earlier, it is called "re-examining." Earlier it was discussed in terms of those present at the time, hence it was difficult to determine; here it is considered in terms of reaching later generations, hence it is said to "naturally become clear." "Distantly marked" refers to the vinaya teachings. The teaching points out the path, which is metaphorically compared to a marker; surpassing worldly texts, it is called "distant." Yi refers to the hem of a garment, taken in the sense of the very end below to compare to later students. "Present in the text" refers to the seven examples below, all found in the Vinaya. Generally, when discussing doctrinal meanings, if there is no explicit text, one must cite evidence; since the vinaya text is clear, it does not rely on citations. Indicating the general marks, it is called a "broad outline."
