就時中，初舉事誡慎。所為重者，前篇所謂拔群迷重累，出界分深根是也。闇下，示作法時節；前明夜中非法。言改節者，坐立乖也。祇即是敬。事下，勸早作。言不易者，謂事重也。

In "Regarding the Time," it first cites the matter to admonish caution. "What is undertaken is weighty" refers to what the previous chapter called "uprooting the heavy burdens of the deluded masses and leaving behind the deep roots of the world realms." "Darkness..." shows the time for performing the ritual; the preceding clarifies that the nighttime is unlawful. "Changing comportment" refers to sitting and standing being disordered. *Qi* means respect. "Matters..." encourages acting early. "Not easy" means that the matter is weighty.
