中品中，初明期果，須約佛乘。解下，期行，明兼兩利。津梁是喻。眾生墮疑，故受生死；能為開解，令彼得度。生死如津，我身如梁，法喻可見。

Under "The Middle Grade," the first part explains the fruit aspired to, which must refer to the Buddha vehicle. From "Understanding" onward is the practice aspired to, explaining that it combines both benefits. The ford and the bridge are an analogy. Sentient beings fall into doubt and therefore undergo birth and death; being able to open and explain for them causes them to attain crossing over. Birth and death are like the ford, and one's own body is like the bridge; the Dharma and the analogy can be seen.
