分截中，初句指事。若下，正判，上明都截成障。今下，反顯少分不成。截根之人，色心隨變，故約未改；必已改者，少分亦障。小罪者，即下云依篇懺是也。

Under "partial severing": The first sentence points to the matter. From "If" onward, he makes the formal determination. Above, he explained that complete severing constitutes an obstacle. Now, he inversely reveals that a partial severing does not constitute it. For a person whose organ is severed, the body and mind change accordingly; therefore, it is said in terms of not yet having changed. If they have definitely changed, even a partial severing is an obstacle. A "minor offense" means what is said below, "repenting according to the category [of offense]."
