Under the Mahāsāṃghika-vinaya: The first sentence indicates similarity. From 'except' downward, it selects differences: bowing to the feet is permanently prohibited, while massage is permitted at certain times. From 'should' downward, it shows similarity: above it explains the teacher gathering [disciples] through the Dharma. It is the same as the teaching of the Tripiṭaka during the three periods of the day as above. 'One of a hundred vassas must still depend' adduces the greater to illustrate the lesser. 'Down to knowing the Vinaya of the two orders' refers to not being fully equipped with the four dharmas above, such as knowing what is an offense. From 'morning' downward, it explains the disciple repaying kindness.
