初緣，疏有四句，初前後俱正提，二前正後非正吉，三前不正後正，四俱不正，並不犯。三云病等者，具如不犯中。五隨咽者，疏云不待飽也。

Regarding the first condition, the Commentary gives four clauses: first, both before and after are proper foods, incurring a pāyattika; second, the former is proper and the latter is improper, incurring a duṣkṛta; third, the former is improper and the latter is proper, and fourth, both are improper, neither of which constitutes an offense. The third says 'illness and so forth', as fully explained among the non-offenses. The fifth, 'with each swallow', the Commentary explains as not waiting until one is satiated.
