三中，初引摩耶。毘尼，住持偏勝；毀之，則法將滅矣。次引《涅槃》。初敘邪說。如上，指前所引。方便怖人，言不實等。如下，決破。上引經文。以下，準經深責。

In the third [part], it first cites the *Mahāmāyā-sūtra*. The vinaya is preeminent in upholding and maintaining [the Dharma]; if it is disparaged, the Dharma will be on the verge of extinction. Next, it cites the *Nirvāṇa-sūtra*. First, it recounts heterodox assertions. 'As above' refers to what was previously cited: using skillful means to terrify people, saying it is not real, and so on. Below, 'As' definitively refutes them. Above, it cites the sūtra text. Below, taking the sūtra as the standard, it deeply rebukes them.
